Woman arrested after fight in city center, one of them is unconscious

A woman was arrested for obstructing police after a man was beaten unconscious by two other men while being ambushed near Fifth and Center Streets.

According to police, another man was with the victim and fought with the attackers around 2 a.m. on May 12.

Police patrolling nearby broke up the fight.

A 24-year-old Taylor woman “yelled profanities at officers and disrupted them as they attempted to assist the unconscious man,” Royal Oak Police Sergeant Nathan Heppner said.

She was arrested and charged with a misdemeanor.

Impatient woman destroys computer in dentist’s office

Employees at Dental Works, 30760 Woodward Ave., called police after a patient threw a desktop computer on the floor on Monday.

According to the police report, the woman came to the practice to request X-rays and employees reported that she appeared angry.

All employees were busy and the woman was told to wait her turn. She became angry and started yelling at all employees, police said.

The woman was about to walk out the door but stopped and knocked a computer off a desk, causing it to fall to the floor and be damaged, police reported.

Man who played loud music in gas station parking lot arrested for cocaine possession

Police were called to the Mobil gas station on the corner of 11 Mile and Campbell Road because of a noise complaint because a man with a flat tire was walking around the parking lot and listening to loud music coming from his Ford Expedition.

When officers arrived, they said the 45-year-old suspect from Warren pretended to be a passenger in the SUV. He told police the owner of the vehicle lived nearby and left around 3:40 a.m. Wednesday to get tools to fix the flat tire.

“He became loud and angry with the officers,” said Royal Oak Police Sergeant Nathan Heppner. “He refused to listen to the officers and was arrested for disturbing the peace.”

Police soon discovered that the suspect was not a passenger but the owner of the vehicle.

Officers searched the SUV and found suspected crack cocaine on the driver’s side floor.

Drug charges against the man are pending pending the results of laboratory tests for suspected cocaine.

Man evicted from apartment tries to move back in

A 28-year-old man who was evicted from his apartment in the 300 block of East Parent apparently tried to move back in.

The owner of the home told police that the man was evicted on May 11 and his belongings were dumped next to a dumpster.

But when the owner returned on Wednesday, May 15, he noticed the man’s vehicle in the parking lot.

The owner called police after entering the apartment and finding the door and lock damaged and some of the man’s belongings had been brought back inside, police said.

Police arrived and collected some of the belongings in the apartment, including a sledgehammer, a pillow, a blanket and a thermos.

The officers were unable to locate the man and the search for him is ongoing.

Four cars stolen in residential areas

In the last five days, four cars were reported stolen.

The latest thefts were reported Thursday when a man said someone stole a Honda Civic and an Acura from the street in front of his home in the 100 block of North Edison Avenue.

On the same day, another vehicle owner reported the theft of a Jeep Grand Cherokee from his driveway in the 3500 block of Woodland Avenue.

On May 11, a resident had a 2023 Subaru Outback stolen from outside its owner’s home in the 1200 block of Diamond Court.

Handbag of an elderly patient stolen at Corewell Hospital

Someone stole a purse from a woman at Corewell Hospital, 3601 W. 13 Mile Road.

The 78-year-old woman was hospitalized for health reasons. When she was moved to a new room, she discovered that her purse was missing, police said.

The police were called. They said none of the employees saw the woman’s purse.
