He was remanded in custody until the verdict is announced next month.

Glasgow Sheriff Court heard how Gachagan took the vulnerable 24-year-old victim, who was reported missing, to his home.

He made her beans on toast before she told him she was tired.

The woman went to bed, but she was then joined by Gachagan, who “tried to take off her underwear” and put his finger in her mouth.

He had denied any wrongdoing but was found guilty of sexual assault.

Sheriff Matthew Jackson KC said the woman was a “credible and reliable” witness.

He added: “She told the police what had happened to her as quickly as possible.”

Gachagan also admitted a separate attack on a paramedic on New Year’s Day 2023 at a flat in Broomhill, Glasgow.

Sentencing for that offense was also postponed until June.

Six months after allegations against him linked to Scotland’s largest pedophile gang were found to have been unproven, Gachagan was back in the dock.
