National Wings Day: Which Restaurants Are Offering Wing Deals?

BUFFALO, NY — It’s National Chicken Wing Day! Local restaurants are offering specials to celebrate the special day.

The Buffalo Wing Coalition posted on social media where to find discounted wings in the Buffalo area:

According to the National Chicken Council, the Buffalo wing dates back to one fateful night in 1964. Anchor Bar co-owner Teressa Bellissimo cooked up leftover wings in a spicy sauce for a late-night snack for her son. The dish was a hit and was on the menu the next day.

In 1977, Buffalo Mayor Stan Makowski announced July 29 as National Chicken Wing Day. Today, 47 years later, the country continues to celebrate the anniversary.

The organization also released its rankings of the best winger positions in Buffalo.
