Atlanta Braves News: Copellela Writes, Herget Returns, Schwellenbach Makes Huge Hit, and More

Spencer Schwellenbach is coming off a huge start to the season for Atlanta on Saturday, as the team looked set to lose six straight games. This continues what has been an extremely impressive rookie season for the 24-year-old who has very little experience as a pitcher. He has clearly made progress at the major league level over those ten starts, as his first three were pretty shaky as he went through his outings, but he has looked really good in the last handful of starts he has made. He really seems to be improving his ability to strike out major league hitters as he has expanded and refined his arsenal. Spencer seems to have done a fantastic job by the scouting and development staff of identifying him with such little experience as a pitcher and helping him become what he is becoming in front of us. He could be a vital part of the rotation for a long time in Atlanta.
