Air quality alert in Northeast Ohio

CLEVELAND (WJW) – An air quality warning has been issued for Sunday, July 28 in Ashtabula, Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, Lorain, Medina, Portage and Summit counties.

Tonight will be cool but pleasant, with temperatures eventually falling to 15 degrees. Mostly clear and dry. In some places temperatures could fall to over 10 degrees by tomorrow morning. A nice night to open the window.


The sun will stay tomorrow. It will be a little warmer with a southerly wind. There will be a little more humidity, but it will still be a very pleasant day. Temperatures will be a little warmer in the afternoon, with highs of around 30 degrees.

Rain is needed across much of Northeast Ohio. Much of the area is in moderate drought. Here’s a look at official rainfall totals from across the area since June 1. Cleveland’s rainfall deficit this summer is just under 3 inches. Mansfield’s rainfall deficit is over 5 inches.

Next week there will be heavy rain and storms.
