Head of the Sinaloa cartel “El Mayo” arrested after flight to the USA

The world’s most powerful drug lord appeared before a US court on Friday on charges of weapons possession, money laundering and drug trafficking. Ismael Zambada Garcia, also known as “El Mayo”, founded the Sinaloa cartel together with Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman. He was arrested on a runway in the US along with one of El Chapo’s sons. Amna Nawaz discussed with Keegan Hamilton what significance the arrests will have for the fentanyl crisis.
