Leaders of metro Atlanta’s Jewish, Palestinian communities discuss Harris’ possible foreign policy – ​​WSB-TV Channel 2

ATLANTA — As the war in Gaza escalates by the day, both sides of the contentious issue are now grappling with how a potential Kamala Harris administration might handle the situation.

“Our hope is to continue to support the State of Israel, both financially and militarily,” said Dov Wilker, Southeast regional director of the American Jewish Committee.

“I would like to see her immediately push for a two-state solution on the ’67 borders, contributing to the peace process,” said Musa Ghanayem, a Palestinian Christian lawyer.

Regarding the war in Gaza, Vice President Kamala Harris has publicly supported a ceasefire.

“Let’s start by ending Islamophobia and treating the lives of Arab Americans and Palestinians the same as other people,” Ghanayem said. Channel 2’s Audrey Washington.

“What’s important for us is to continue to hear from campaigns supporting Israel and demanding the return of the hostages,” Wilker said.
