House fire in Rocky Hill under investigation, Knox County, Tennessee

KNOX COUNTY, Tenn. (WATE) – Investigators are trying to determine the cause of a fire at a home in Rocky Hill Township that is believed to be undergoing renovations Tuesday afternoon.

According to Rural Metro, firefighters responded to a home in the 7700 block of Queensbury Drive around 1 p.m. When they arrived, crews found a single-family home with thick smoke coming from the eaves and garage area.

When the fire broke out, no one was home. The emergency services were able to gain access to the house through the locked front door and extinguish the fire, but the house suffered severe damage.

According to Rural Metro, the house is likely to be remodeled. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
