1 dead and 1 injured in collision near Saint George, police say

The Greenville County Coroner’s Office, along with the South Carolina Highway Patrol, responded to a 911 call Wednesday reporting a pedestrian struck by a vehicle.

DORCHESTER COUNTY, SC (WCBD) – State police are investigating a fatal collision Monday evening near Saint George.

According to Lance Corporal Lena Butler, at approximately 6:06 p.m., a 2008 Cadillac exited the eastbound ramp from Interstate 26 onto U.S. Highway 15, approximately 5 miles north of Saint George.


A GMC pickup truck then collided with the Cadillac, killing the driver of the vehicle. The passenger was taken to a nearby hospital.

The driver of the pickup truck was uninjured. The Dorchester County coroner has not yet determined the identity of the deceased.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating.
