Rape: Teenager arrested for raping woman after offering her a lift | Hyderabad News

Hyderabad: A 22-year-old youth was arrested by the Film Nagar police on Wednesday for allegedly raping a woman on the pretext of giving her a lift. Though the incident took place on the evening of June 7 and was reported to the police the next day, the police came up with the case, arrested the accused and remanded him in judicial custody on Wednesday. At around 10 pm on June 7, the woman, in her mid-30s, was waiting at a bus stop in Prashashan Nagar to go home to Secunderabad, according to police. The youth, who was passing by, noticed her and offered to give her a lift. The woman believed him and got on his bike. He drove the bike to a secluded spot in an unknown location and allegedly raped her. He also robbed the woman of $1,000, left her on the road and fled. The woman managed to reach home and filed a complaint the next day. Based on technical evidence and other clues, the police caught the 22-year-old. tnn
