Old Orchard Beach: Report of shooter spotted outside grocery store

An employee at Landry’s Shop ‘n Save told NEWS CENTER Maine he saw a man outside with a gun. Maine police said the situation was resolved around 8:30 p.m.

OLD ORCHARD BEACH, Maine – Maine State Police officers responded Tuesday evening to a report of a man with a gun spotted outside a grocery store in Old Orchard Beach.

State police confirmed that the incident was “resolved” around 8:30 p.m. and there was no longer any danger to the public.

The situation was reported around 8 p.m. in front of Landry’s Shop ‘n Save.

State and local police and emergency officials responded and police urged people to avoid the area.

An employee told NEWS CENTER Maine that the store was locked down and no one could enter or leave the building.

The employee said he saw a man with a large gun being surrounded by police in the parking lot.

State police said the incident was under investigation.
