Police: 29-year-old man arrested after alleged sexual assault at Hoboken Shelter

A 29-year-old man was arrested in late June following an alleged sexual assault at the Hoboken Shelter, authorities said in their police report.

On June 24, at approximately 6:20 a.m., Hoboken Police Officers Nasir Willey and Keven De La Cruz responded to reports of a sexual assault at the Hoboken Shelter, 300 Bloomfield St.

Officer Rose Kanan observed a man matching the suspect’s description in the 100 block of Washington Street. The victim confirmed the attacker was Christopher Baez, 29, of Hoboken.

He was then arrested and taken to Hoboken Police Department and charged with sexual abuse before being transferred to Hudson County Correctional Facility, police said.
