1 dead, 1 in custody after shooting in south Goodyear

According to police, a shooting occurred at a home in south Goodyear on Saturday that left one person dead and another in custody.

Goodyear police arrived around 4:51 p.m. after receiving reports of a shooting at a residence near Estrella Parkway and Willis Road, police spokesman Sergeant Sean Tyler said.

Police found a dead adult and arrested a suspect in connection with the death.

Tyler said detectives were in the area investigating, but he declined to provide further details.

The shooting is believed to be an isolated incident with no danger to the surrounding area, Tyler said.
