San Diego Police Announce Arrest of Suspect in 2020 Talmadge Murder

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — The suspect in the fatal shooting of a man in Talmadge in 2020 was arrested Tuesday at the San Ysidro port of entry, San Diego police said.

The incident occurred just before 3:30 a.m. on Sept. 18, 2020, in the 4400 block of Euclid Avenue. Authorities first became aware of the shooting after receiving a call reporting an assault with a deadly weapon, SDPD Lt. Steve Shebloski said.

When officers arrived on scene, they found an adult male with upper body injuries. Emergency responders rendered aid to him until he could be transported to a nearby hospital. He was pronounced dead by medical personnel less than an hour later, at 4:15 p.m., according to Shebloski.

The victim was later identified as 33-year-old Mychael Farve of San Diego, Shebloski said.

In the months following the shooting, SDPD homicide detectives investigated and identified Farve’s partner, 25-year-old Sheila Camarena, as a suspect. According to Shebloski, a confrontation occurred between the two before he was fatally shot.

In February 2021, an arrest warrant was issued for Camarena on suspicion of murder. A Crime Stoppers flyer was distributed asking the public for help in finding her, Shebloski added.

However, on Tuesday at approximately 6:18 p.m., Camarena was located by SDPD detectives at the U.S. port of entry at 720 West San Ysidro Boulevard, according to SDPD. She was arrested on an outstanding warrant for murder and transported to Las Colinas Jail.
