Man found dead in Upstate Park

A man is dead after a shooting Tuesday at a city park in Spartanburg, South Carolina, police said. Spartanburg police Maj. Art Littlejohn said the call came in about 1:30 p.m. about a shooting at Adams Park on East Boundary Drive. When officers arrived, they found Krist Roker, 37, with a gunshot wound to the head, Littlejohn said. He said Spartanburg Emergency Services personnel immediately responded to the scene but were unable to revive Roker. Investigators with both the Spartanburg Police Department and the Spartanburg County Coroner’s Office are investigating this shooting. A man is dead after a shooting in a city park in Spartanburg, South Carolina, police said Tuesday.

Spartanburg Police Major Art Littlejohn said the call about a shooting at Adams Park on East Boundary Drive came in around 1:30 p.m.

When officers arrived, they found 37-year-old Krist Roker with a gunshot wound to the head, Littlejohn said.

He said Spartanburg Emergency Medical Services personnel arrived on the scene immediately but were unable to resuscitate Roker.

Investigators from both the Spartanburg Police Department and the Spartanburg County Coroner’s Office are investigating this shooting.
