Former JV coach accused of sexual contact with student pleads not guilty

ROCHESTER, NY (WROC) – Former Brockport junior high coach Anne Collins pleaded not guilty Tuesday to nine counts of third-degree sexual abuse.

Collins was accused of having sexual contact with a player on her team while employed by the Brockport School District in 2018. Collins was 23 years old at the time.

Court documents list five separate occasions on which Collins allegedly drove herself and a 15-year-old girl to various locations where she had inappropriate contact with the victim.

“I’m just so frustrated that we see this so often in our community. We as parents and guardians send our children to school, to basketball courts, to community sporting events. We send them there in the hope that they will be protected,” said District Attorney Hillary Langdon.

Collins will have to appear in court again in September.
