Pinellas deputy arrested for child pornography and sex acts with animals

PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. (WWSB) – Detectives with the Crimes Against Children Unit have arrested a deputy detention officer with the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office on several disturbing charges.

Investigators received information that child pornography was being accessed and distributed over the Internet. After investigation, investigators identified the suspect as 33-year-old Trevor Willis.

Willis was arrested for possession of child pornography, sexual activity with animals, and distribution of child pornography.

According to investigators, the videos involved children between the ages of five and fifteen. In addition to the child pornography, investigators also found videos showing a child engaging in sexual acts with a dog.

According to investigators, Willis was using his personal cellphone while on duty at the jail and was logged into the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office Wi-Fi network when he viewed the videos.

When Willis was questioned by detectives, he admitted to obtaining and sending the child pornography files.

Willis was taken into custody without incident.

On July 1, 2024, at 9:23 a.m., Willis resigned from his position as Sheriff of Pinellas County.
