Police officers attacked while driving in West Haven

WEST HAVEN, Connecticut (WTNH) – A driver in West Haven drove into several police cars on Saturday afternoon in what police say was a deliberate attack on police.

The incident began at 1:58 p.m. when a West Haven officer was driving a marked patrol car near Meloy Road and Route 1. Another vehicle drove alongside the officer and attempted to run him off the road.


The officer reported the accident and continued south on Meloy Road to police headquarters.

Additional police units began to assist the officer and the suspect intentionally struck an occupied police vehicle that was stopped on Greta Street at Saw Mill Road. The suspect was then arrested.
