Two people killed in shooting at Chick-fil-A – NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth

Dozens of police units responded to a Chick-fil-A in Irving on Wednesday afternoon after two people were killed in what is believed to be a targeted shooting.

According to Officer Anthony Alexander of the Irving Police Department, authorities responded to the business in the 5300 block of N. MacArthur Boulevard in the Las Colinas area around 4 p.m. after receiving multiple 911 calls about a shooting.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found two unidentified victims with gunshot wounds inside the fast-food restaurant. Alexander confirmed that the shooting occurred inside the building.

The paramedics who arrived at the facility shortly afterwards declared both people dead.

Irving police investigators said they gathered enough information to determine that the victims were targeted and the suspect fled the scene before police arrived.

The names of the deceased victims were not released and the police department did not provide any information about the suspect.

Texas Sky Ranger flew over the scene around 4:30 p.m. and saw multiple police units surrounding the fast food restaurant on N. MacArthur Blvd.

In addition, dozens of people were seen standing in the parking lot in front of the restaurant. Among them were apparently Chick-fil-A employees.

Alexander said this was an isolated incident and there was no threat to the public. Investigators said they had obtained surveillance footage that should help determine who the suspected shooter is.

Officers are asking people to avoid the scene while they continue their investigation, which is still in its early stages.
