Mississippi State University cornerback arrested on suspicion of drunk driving and reckless driving

STARKVILLE – Mississippi State cornerback Raydarious Jones was arrested Saturday night and charged with drunken driving and reckless driving. Jones has since been released on bail, the Oktibbeha County Sheriff’s Office said.

Jones, a native of Horn Lake, transferred from LSU prior to the 2023 season and appeared in one game for the Bulldogs as a member of the punt return unit.

“We are aware of the matter and continue to gather information. We have no further comment at this time,” new head coach Jeff Lebby said in a statement to The Dispatch.

Jones is the fourth football player arrested this offseason. Second-grader Trevion Williams was arrested on May 1 on suspicion of driving under the influence and improper equipment. First-graders Mario Craver and JJ Harrell were arrested on April 29 on charges of possession of marijuana in a vehicle and possession of beer by a minor.
