New assault charges filed against alleged Bucks Co. family killer – NBC10 Philadelphia

A man accused of killing three members of his family in a shooting spree that began in Levittown, Bucks County, and ended in Trenton, New Jersey, is facing new charges. The indictment alleges that he attacked police officers at the jail where he is being held on at least three occasions, biting their fingers and punching and kicking them.

Police say 26-year-old Andre Gordon faces new charges of aggravated assault, disturbing the peace and other offenses following separate incidents at the Bucks County Jail on May 23 and 29.

In the first incident on May 23 at around 8:12 a.m., officials allege Gordon assaulted officers at least three times. According to court documents, the incidents occurred after a correctional officer observed Gordon sharpening a spoon from the prison cafeteria and attempting to use it to break down his cell door.

Correctional officers responded and handcuffed Gordon, court documents show, but he “actively resisted” when officers attempted to pat him down. Gorgon resisted officers until he was secured in shackles, court documents show.

Then, around 11:37 a.m. that day, court documents note, Gordon allegedly attacked police officers as he was being led to a shower.

During that incident, court documents say, Gordon managed to move his handcuffed arms from behind to front and lunge at the officers, attempting to strike them. However, the officers were able to take Gordon to the ground and, court documents say, the alleged killer attempted to bite, kick and punch the officers until they were able to break free of Gordon and lock him in the room.

According to court documents, less than an hour later, at approximately 12:05 p.m., officers attempted to escort Gordon from the shower back to his cell and sprayed him with pepper spray because he refused to comply with officers’ orders.

Officers eventually managed to get Gordon back to his cell, but he resisted arrest, according to court documents.

No officers were injured in any of the incidents on May 23, authorities said.

However, according to court documents, the evening of May 29 was a different story.

When officers conducted a cell check around 8:10 p.m., Gordon told them to “leave him alone” as they approached his cell, court documents show.

When officers attempted to enter Gordon’s cell, he refused to comply and attempted to prevent officers from entering the cell, court documents state. When officers forced entry, Gordon resisted by biting one officer’s thumb and another officer’s pinky finger, court documents state.

Correctional officers attempted to restrain Gordon, but as an officer attempted to handcuff the inmate, he slipped on urine on the cell floor and injured his elbow, court documents state.

According to court documents, officers eventually managed to subdue and detain Gordon.

According to police, following the incident, two officers had to be treated for injuries sustained in the attack.

These incidents follow an incident on May 15 when Gordon refused to leave his jail cell for a preliminary hearing.

Gordon remains in the Bucks County Jail and is scheduled to appear in court on July 12 on murder charges.

He has been in police custody since March 16 after officials say he shot and killed his 52-year-old stepmother, Karen Gordon, and his 13-year-old sister, Kera Gordon, in their Levittown home.

After this shooting, he is said to have driven to a house about two miles away in Levittown, where he killed the mother of his two children, 25-year-old Taylor Daniel.

Gordon was arrested later that day when he was found wandering the streets of Trenton, New Jersey.
