Investigation underway into vandalism of flag line at Dayton Veteran’s Memorial

DAYTON, Nevada (KOLO) – An investigation is underway after the flag line at the Veterans Memorial in Dayton was damaged.

The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office said an unknown person cut the rope, leaving the flag hanging.

The vandalism was noticed by a Vietnam veteran who maintains the memorial and replaces the flag monthly.

The rope was replaced with the assistance of the Central Lyon County Fire Department.
