8 injured, 2 in critical condition after shooting in Methuen – Boston 25 News

METHUEN, Massachusetts – Eight people were injured in a shooting in Methuen early Sunday morning.

According to Methuen Police Chief Scott McNamara, officers responded to reports of a shooting at 100 Lindberg Avenue around 1:55 a.m. Sunday.

When authorities arrived, they found that seven people had been hit by bullets and an eighth person had suffered head injuries while trying to escape.

Essex County District Attorney Paul Tucker said one of the victims was flown to a nearby hospital.

Authorities say the shooting occurred at a gathering organized through social media. The victim’s age ranges from late teens to 22.

Two people are still in critical condition.

No arrests have been made in connection with the shooting and the investigation is ongoing.
