Pedestrian dead after collision on 2nd Fwy in Southern California

A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run accident on the 2 Freeway in Eagle Rock on Thursday evening.

The pedestrian, whose identity is still unknown, was hit shortly before 10:15 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.

Although few details are known, the CHP confirmed that the pedestrian was on the northbound 2 Freeway south of Colorado Boulevard when he was struck.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

A search is still underway for a vehicle suspected of being involved in the accident.

CHP officials were unable to confirm further information about the immediate events leading up to the collision.
