Cause of explosion in house in Gallatin, injured resident is being investigated

On Friday morning, a house exploded on Chaffin Court on Airport Road in Gallatin.

According to Gallatin Fire Chief Jeff Beaman, the fire department received a call at 7:28 a.m. informing them of the explosion.

“Emergency Management Service informed me that one person – a woman – was taken to Skyline Medical Center with burns and in critical condition,” Beaman said.

Beaman reported that the explosion was accompanied by heavy fire and that emergency crews were still on the scene at 9 a.m.

“The cause is still unknown,” he said. “But several authorities are on site and we will conduct a thorough investigation.”

Residents said on social media they heard and even felt the explosion in several parts of the city, including East Park, Britton Avenue, Nichols Lane, Twin Eagles, Hartsville Pike and even down to Castalian Springs.
