Murder investigation in Polk County continues overnight

POLK COUNTY, Iowa – A homicide investigation is underway after a man was found dead.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office said they responded to a shooting near Runnells after 1 a.m.

Authorities said the victim was in the house.

The Iowa DCI is also assisting in the case. Officers are interviewing witnesses, including a suspect.
