Death in Kewanee: Investigation becomes murder investigation

KEWANEE, Illinois — A death investigation in Kewanee is now becoming a murder investigation.

The investigation began on Saturday, June 8, when officers conducted a welfare check in the 800 block of West Division Street shortly after 10 p.m. During the check, officers found an unconscious man who was pronounced dead at the scene.

An autopsy identified the victim as 50-year-old Damon Foulks of Peoria. Officials said the autopsy results led them to declare the incident a homicide.
