Man dead, 2 injured after single-vehicle crash in Dickson County, TN

DICKSON, Tenn. (WKRN) – A man died and two others were injured in a crash early Tuesday morning in Dickson County.

According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP), the accident occurred just before 7 a.m. on Tuesday, May 7, in the 1600 block of Highway 48.

Authorities reported that 55-year-old Garry Smith was driving a 2022 Chrysler Voyager on Highway 48 when he “failed to negotiate a curve and went off the side of the road.”

Smith then drove up an embankment and struck a tree, causing the Chrysler to roll over, THP said.

According to a report from THP, Smith died in the crash. Meanwhile, his passengers – a 51-year-old woman and a 72-year-old woman – were injured.

Officials said both women were wearing seatbelts, but Smith was not. No further information was released.
