Urbana Police and Crime Stoppers Search for Suspects in May Shooting Incident

URBANA, Ill. (WCIA) – The Urbana Police Department and Champaign County Crime Stoppers are asking the public for help in solving a shooting incident that occurred last month.

The shooting occurred on the night of May 18 in the area of ​​Florida Avenue and Lincolnwood Drive. Officials said that around 9:12 p.m., five people walking by the location saw a car slowly approaching them. At least two people in the group pulled out guns and fired at the car, which fled the scene; the suspects also left the scene on foot. No injuries were reported.

The five suspects, all men, had the following descriptions:

  1. Of slim build, wearing a dark hoodie with a large logo on the back and black and white tennis shoes.
  2. Slim build, wears black pants and a grey hoodie, as well as black shoes with white soles.
  3. A slim figure wearing a sweatshirt with sleeves of a different color or pattern and large writing near the torso, as well as dark jeans, a hat and dark shoes.
  4. A slim figure wearing a grey hoodie over his head, grey sweatpants and white tennis shoes.
  5. Of strong build, with shoulder-length dreadlocks, wearing a grey sweatshirt, black trousers and white tennis shoes.
