Accident on I-277 in Uptown triggers CMPD death investigation – WSOC TV

CHARLOTTE – Police are investigating the death of a person Tuesday morning on Interstate 277 in Uptown Charlotte.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police were called to the highway near the Interstate 77 ramp at around 2:15 a.m. Tuesday, where they found a person seriously injured after a car accident.

The victim was taken to the hospital where he later died, CMPD said. His identity was not released.

According to MEDIC, another person was injured and taken to hospital with minor injuries.

The inner loop of I-277 was closed between I-77 and South Boulevard.
