Obituary of Letha Placzkowski – Buffalo, NY (1944-2017)

Letha S. Placzkowski BUFFALO – Letha Sharp Placzkowski She was born in Troy on September 6, 1944, the daughter of the late Howard and Eleanor Miller Sharp. Letha grew up in Troy and was a graduate of Lansingburgh High School. She resided in Watervliet for many years before moving to Buffalo in 2009. She was employed by the State of New York for over 25 years and retired from the State of Workers’ Compensation Commission New York as a social worker in 2006. She was an avid reader and loved knitting. She is the loving mother of Lori (Mike) Patrick of Troy and Amy (Joe) Manna of Buffalo; beloved grandmother of Krystie Patrick, Andrew, Caroline and Joseph Manna; great grandmother to Savannah Sherry; lifelong friend of her children’s father, Frank Placzkowski; sister of the late Howard Sharp. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 15 at 11:30 a.m. at Parker Bros. Memorial, 2013 Broadway, Watervliet. Relatives and friends are invited and may visit the funeral home before the service on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Troy.
