2 people killed in 5 separate shootings in DC

In a series of five shootings in the district on Saturday night and into the early hours of Sunday morning, at least two people were killed, including a male teenager.

According to Washington DC police, at least two people were killed in a series of five shootings in the District on Saturday night and in the early hours of the morning.

Police said they were notified of the first shooting at 8:35 p.m. in the 700 block of Atlantic Street, southeast, where a man was killed. They were then notified of another shooting at about 10:40 p.m. at 1700 Gales Street, northeast, where a male juvenile was killed.

Over the next hour and a half, police said there were three more shootings across the city.

After 11:30 p.m., a shooting was reported in the 1200 block of Summer Road, Northeast, where an adult male was found with a gunshot wound and taken to the hospital.

After midnight, police were called to a shooting in the 1600 block of S Street in Southeast, where a young woman was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound.

Just after 3 a.m., police responded to a report of a shooting in the 1000 block of Connecticut Avenue, Northwest. Police said an adult male was injured and hospitalized.

The wave of violence came a day after a shooting in southeast DC left one person dead and two others injured.
