Former elementary school teacher at Lamar CISD under investigation after videos leaked to district

HOUSTON – A former elementary school teacher with the Lamar Consolidated Independent School District is under investigation after videos she allegedly recorded on school grounds were sent to the district.

On Thursday afternoon, the district said it had received copies of two videos showing the former employee on the property.

An investigation has been launched, but the district said it does not believe students were present when the videos were recorded. However, the investigation will review the timestamp and circumstances of the recordings.

If criminal conduct or conduct that violates the Texas Administrative Code’s Code of Ethics for Educators is discovered, the district will report it to the appropriate authorities.

When the district received this information, it was revealed that the employee had resigned in February and the termination was accepted and effective at the end of the school year. The elementary school reportedly had no knowledge of the alleged videos or the reason for her termination.

According to the district, this was the teacher’s first year at Lamar CISD.
