Cuyler man arrested for drug possession in Cortlandville

On Memorial Day at approximately 1:45 p.m., officers with the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call for assistance on Route 11 in the town of Cortlandville. During the investigation, officers discovered that there was a New York State Police warrant out for the suspect’s arrest.

Officials arrested 52 years old Jason W. Scutt from the town of Cuyler for his arrest warrant. When he was taken into custody, officers found Scutt to be in possession of a controlled substance. He was charged with 7th degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor. Scutt was arraigned and released with a summons and is due in Cortlandville Municipal Court next month.
