Rumors get a bad rap. While it is true that rumor can often produce misinformation. At the same time, it takes an informed listener to determine the validity of what they hear.

Take the Houston Rockets. As a competitive team that missed the playoffs this year, they are the subject of rumors. The Rockets want to improve, so they are good candidates to make roster changes that will help them achieve that goal.

However, each proposed measure will not be anchored in reality. Some will be works of fiction. Here we will attempt to discern fact from fiction. We buy – or sell – the latest Rockets rumors.

Tate had the misfortune of being featured in our “Rockets Who Shouldn’t Be Back.” Recent rumors indicate the front office is not on board.

Fair enough. Tate is a hardworking and versatile defensive player. We’d like to see his rotation spot go to someone who can shoot better than 29.9% from long range. Still, the Rockets can justify keeping Tate as an insurance policy. At least they probably like the tone he sets in practice.

Meanwhile, bringing Green back is probably a no-brainer. This is the last year of his contract and he is a strong mentor for this young team. Expect to see them both back in Rockets uniforms for 2024-25.
