Multiple teens arrested with stolen guns in Kent – KIRO 7 News Seattle

KENT, Wash. – Three teens in Kent were arrested on multiple weapons charges after briefly attempting to outrun a police officer, according to the Kent Police Department.

An officer leaving the corner of Russell Road South and Meeker Street spotted a Kia coupe being driven by a person wearing a balaclava on a sunny day.

The driver pulled down his hat to cover his eyes as the officer pulled up to the car, police said.

According to police, the Kia driver then made an “awkward” 3-point turn to avoid the officer and drove away.

Another passenger also covered his face with his hands.

The Kia had no license plates and “additional signs that it was likely stolen.”

The officers found the car a few minutes later, blocked it and prevented the driver from escaping.

One of the teens got out of the car with a stolen gun and was taken into custody.

The other two got out of the car unarmed, but officers found a loaded handgun and a short-barreled rifle in the car. These two weapons were also stolen.

A 17-year-old male from Kent was booked into the King County Juvenile Detention Center on a charge of possession of a stolen firearm.

Two 16-year-old males from Kent were also charged with unlawful possession of a weapon at King County Juvenile.
