Parham’s vehicle collided with Karbach’s car near White Horse Pike and Gloucester Avenue around 9:30 p.m. on May 13, the CCPO said. Karbach and her passenger – a 69-year-old woman from Pine Hill – were extricated from the vehicle and taken to Cooper University Hospital in Camden.

Karback, 69, of Cherry Hill, was pronounced dead at 11:11 p.m. that evening. The injured passenger is still in the hospital for treatment, the CCPO said Friday.

Authorities have not released the passenger’s name.

Further investigation revealed that Parham was speeding before and during the accident, the CCPO said. He was charged with vehicular manslaughter (second degree), driving while license suspended during a fatal accident (fourth degree) and assault (fourth degree).

Karbach retired after 44 years as a patient care provider for Virtua Health System. In retirement, according to her obituary shared by Bradley Funeral Home, she “passionately used her skills as a ‘philanthropist’ and self-proclaimed fashionista” and worked for various businesses. Most recently, she worked at Brighton Collectibles in the Cherry Hill Mall.

“She loved entertaining and preparing great meals for family and friends. And most importantly, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren,” Karbach’s obituary reads.
