Two men die in shooting in San Pedro

SAN PEDRO, LOS ANGELES (KABC) — Police are investigating a shooting that left two men dead in San Pedro.

Officers arrived at the scene at the corner of Santa Cruz and Meyler Streets around 3:30 p.m. on Thursday and found two gunshot victims – a 19-year-old man and another man believed to be 45 years old.

One of the men died at the scene, the other was pronounced dead in hospital, police said.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under investigation.

Police have not arrested any suspects and are still trying to determine the exact incident.

There were initial reports that one or more suspects left the area in a blue car, but detectives have not confirmed this information.

A local resident who asked not to be identified said there have been several shootings recently and believes the violence is the result of a dispute between two groups.

“It’s heartbreaking for all of us,” said the resident. “Because this is our neighborhood and it affects us all.”
