Murder suspect in missing woman case arrested by Columbia police on suspicion of murder

COLUMBIA, Missouri (KMIZ)

A man now named as a suspect in a murder investigation has been arrested, Columbia police confirmed in a press release Thursday evening

Randall Fox, 51, was previously designated a “person of interest” in a missing person investigation. Fox was arrested on suspicion of first-degree murder and tampering with evidence, the release said.

The press release also states that Fox was “arrested in connection with the double homicide that occurred in the 1700 block of Ridgemont Drive.”

On Saturday, officers were called to the 1700 block of Ridgemont Drive as part of a missing person investigation. Police were trying to locate Marcia Hess and Sara Fox. They found the two bodies, which have yet to be identified, several days later, Columbia police said in a news release Wednesday.

Sara Elizabeth Fox, 50, and her mother Marcia Hess, 77, were reported missing Tuesday. They were last seen on May 8.

Randall Fox was not on the Boone County Jail inmate list as of Thursday evening.
