Steve Buscemi was attacked by a stranger in New York City

Celebrity status inevitably means being asked to take photos or sign autographs for fans on the go, but legendary actor Steve Buscemi has become the latest victim of a much more unfortunate current trend.

For whatever reason, the Reservoir Dogs Star is the latest high-profile public figure to be randomly attacked on the streets of New York City, the place Buscemi has called home since the day he was born.

While walking in Manhattan’s Kips Bay neighborhood last week, the Primetime Emmy and Golden Globe-winning actor, producer and filmmaker was approached by a complete stranger on the street and punched him in the face. Buscemi was taken to Bellevue Hospital after his left eye and face became swollen, but he was otherwise uninjured.
