Police reports reveal rape and resignation claims against Steve Wynn

From Associated Press

One woman told police she had a child with casino mogul Steve Wynn after he raped her, while another reported she was forced to quit her job in Las Vegas because she refused to have sex with to have him.

The Associated Press obtained copies Tuesday of police reports the two women recently filed about allegations dating back to the 1970s. Las Vegas police announced earlier this month that they had taken the statements after a news report in January revealed allegations of sexual misconduct against the billionaire.

Wynn has vehemently denied the allegations of misconduct, attributing them to a campaign by his ex-wife, whose lawyer has denied that she instigated the report through him Wall Street Journal.

According to a police report, a woman told officers that Wynn raped her at least three times in her Chicago apartment between 1973 and 1974. She reported that she became pregnant and gave birth to a baby girl in a gas station bathroom.

In one case, the woman claimed Wynn pushed her against the refrigerator and raped her. She said he then made a phone call, kissed her on the cheek and left. The report does not explain how Wynn entered the apartment or whether they knew each other. The woman claimed she didn’t give him a key.

The second police report states that a woman told police she had consensual sex with Wynn “several times” while working as a casino dealer at the Golden Nugget, but was forced to resign when she turned him down in the summer of 1976.

The women’s names are blacked out in the reports, and police said they would not identify people who say they are victims of sex crimes.

Wynn resigned as chairman and CEO of Wynn Resorts on Feb. 6, less than two weeks after the newspaper reported that several women said he harassed or assaulted them and that a case resulted in a $7.5 settlement million US dollars.
