Atrocity case against Kona Venkat

Famous writer and producer Kona Venkat is facing serious allegations after Karlapalem police in Bapatla district filed an SC-ST atrocities case against him for allegedly assaulting a Dalit youth.

The incident took place when SC leader Kathi Rajesh along with his supporters quit the YSRCP and recently joined the TDP. YCP leaders accused Rajesh of owing them Rs. 8 lakh, which led to his arrest.

When Rajesh was taken to the police station, Kona Venkat, who was already present there, along with SSI Janardhan, allegedly abused, threatened, insulted and assaulted him.

Rajesh claims they targeted him because of his political switch. As a result, an SC and ST atrocities case was filed against Kona Venkat, YCP leader and SSI Janardhan based on Rajesh’s complaint.

Kona Venkat’s association with the ruling YSRCP party makes the situation even more complex given his uncle’s political connections as a YCP MLA.

His past criticism of other political figures, including Pawan Kalyan, has also sparked controversy.

Now that elections are approaching, tensions have escalated further, particularly due to the recent assault incident.
