Man hit by police vehicle dies in hospital

Vadodara: A 35-year-old man from Sikandarpura village on Ajwa Road allegedly died after he was hit by a police vehicle. Nilesh’s father Dahya Parmar, the victim’s father, reported a crime at Kapurai police station on Friday evening. Parmar said his son went for a Vastu ceremony at a family friend’s house on Friday. The accident occurred when he was returning from the ceremony on his bicycle. Dahya said he was informed by a friend that Nilesh had been taken to SSG Hospital. By the time Dahya reached there, Nilesh had been declared dead. The father went to the scene of the accident, where he was informed that the accident had been caused by a Bolero with the registration number GJ-06-GA-3019. This is a police vehicle that was also seen in CCTV footage from the petrol pump near the scene of the accident. However, the footage also shows that the victim was between two vehicles, including the Bolero and a Mahindra Thar, at the time of the accident. The police are investigating which vehicle was responsible for the accident. TNN
