One in prison, one died in an accident in Owensboro

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – One person is behind bars after a crash on New Hartford Road in Owensboro that left one person dead.

Owensboro State Police officers were responding to the 3400 block of New Hartford Road when a collision occurred with multiple vehicles injured.

Officials say in addition to the one death, another person was airlifted with serious injuries and another was taken to an Owensboro hospital with serious injuries.

According to OPD, Maddox Hall, of Utica, was taken into custody and charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, manslaughter while under the influence of alcohol, wanton endangerment (four counts) and leaving the scene of an accident.

The collision is still under investigation.
