Dejounte Murray from Atlanta Hawks to Orlando Magic?

ORLANDO — The Orlando Magic could be looking to make a splash and move into the Eastern Conference contender category this offseason.

This could be a move on the trade market for one of the league’s best guards.

Bleacher Report suggests the Magic are a potential landing spot for Atlanta Hawks guard Dejounte Murray.

“The last time Dejounte Murray was the primary point guard and primary ball handler for a full season, he was named to the All-Star team averaging 21.1 points, 9.2 assists, 8 .3 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game, he is the only player in NBA history to have posted these averages over an entire season,” writes Bleacher Report.

Murray fits the Magic’s defensive identity. He could even elevate Orlando’s defense in the backcourt, but he would also be another creator on the offensive side of the ball.

The Hawks have struggled since trading for Murray two years ago, and the deal could be a bargain for the Magic.

This would likely cost the Magic future draft capital and at least that of Anthony Black or Jett Howard, but it could be worth it in the long run.
