Buffalo Middle School Celebrates Teacher Appreciation Week

KENOVA, W.Va. (WOWK) – Teachers in Wayne County and across the country are being celebrated this week as “Teacher Appreciation Week” comes to a close.

At Buffalo Middle School in Kenova, staff and students participated in different events and activities this week, including “Survivor” style challenges. School staff say the event takes place before state testing for students.

“We’re getting ready to do state testing next week, so it’s just a matter of trying to get everyone together, and also get all the kids relaxed. They see us doing things that are not so “testing”. We don’t worry about testing. We’re ready for them, they’re ready, and let’s make it more fun,” said Amie Jobe, 6th grade English teacher at Buffalo Middle School.

To round off the events, at the end of the day, someone will win a grand prize!
