Locals arrested on numerous criminal conspiracy charges — DavidsonLocal.com

Detectives from the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office TRACE Team, assigned to the Special Investigations Division, began investigating the theft of a Caterpillar 953C track loader valued at $110,000.00 from the community of Thomasville. During the investigation, detectives, assisted by the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office, Stokes County Sheriff’s Office, Kernersville Police Department and the North Carolina Highway Patrol, followed up on leads and identified the suspects involved in the theft. During the course of the investigation, numerous individuals were arrested and charged.

On July 5, 2024, the stolen Caterpillar 953C track loader was found on an abandoned roadside in Stokes County. Detectives responded and investigated and arrested Matthew Dylan Combs, who is charged with theft.

On July 6, 2024, detectives identified and arrested Devin Lynn Combs, who is charged with grand larceny, conspiracy to commit grand larceny, conspiracy to obtain property by false pretense, aggravated possession of stolen property, aggravated alteration or removal of serial numbers, damage to personal property, damage to railroad property, second-degree trespassing, and trespassing on railroad rights-of-way. He was also issued numerous warrants for probation violations.

On July 25, 2024, detectives identified and arrested Betty Michelle Tilley on suspicion of grand theft, conspiracy to commit grand theft, conspiracy to obtain property by false pretenses, and aiding and abetting in the commission of a crime.

Timothy Matthew Combs was arrested on July 18 on other charges and booked into the Guilford County Jail. His warrants, issued by the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office, are awaiting execution. He is charged with grand larceny, aggravated possession of stolen property, conspiracy to commit grand larceny, conspiracy to obtain property by false pretenses, aggravated alteration or removal of serial numbers, and criminal damage to property.

Sonya Leann Jones is currently wanted by the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office for grand larceny, grand possession of stolen property, conspiracy to commit grand larceny, conspiracy to obtain property by false pretense, second degree trespassing, and failure to appear for methamphetamine smuggling out of Stokes County. Identification of additional suspects is currently ongoing.
