Elon Musk says 'woke mind virus' 'killed' his estranged transgender daughter

Tesla CEO Elon Musk said his estranged transgender daughter was “killed” by the “woke mind virus” after he was tricked into agreeing to gender reassignment surgery.

In an interview with psychologist and conservative commentator Dr. Jordan Peterson, the X owner referred to the sex-reassignment surgery as “child mutilation and sterilization.” He then spoke about his 20-year-old child, Vivian Jenna Wilson, who he said underwent the procedures during the pandemic.

“I was basically tricked into signing documents for one of my older sons,” Musk Peterson said in an interview with Daily Wire, referring to his child by his last name. “This was really before I even understood what was going on, and we had COVID, so there was a lot of confusion and I was told (Musk’s child) might commit suicide.”

The SpaceX founder claimed the procedure was being performed on children “who are well below the age of consent” and said he agreed with Peterson’s view that anyone promoting the practice should go to jail.

“I was tricked into doing this,” Musk said. “Basically, I lost my son. It’s called ‘deadnaming’ for a reason. The reason is because your son is dead.”

Musk went on to say that this experience put him on a mission.

“I vowed afterward to destroy the woke mind virus,” Musk said. “And we’re making some progress.”

Vivian Jenna Wilson broke off ties with her father in 2022

Wilson was officially granted her name and gender transition on June 22, 2022, at the age of 18, at the Santa Monica Courthouse in California.

She said the name change was due to her gender identity and an apparent dislike for Musk, according to a petition filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court on April 18, 2022.

“I no longer live with my biological father and no longer wish to be related to him in any way,” Wilson wrote in the petition.

Wilson’s mother is Justine Wilson, a Canadian author who divorced Musk in 2008; the couple have six children together.

Musk described the “woke mind virus” as a threat to modern civilization

Musk previously criticized what he calls “Woke Mind Virus” in an interview with conservative media outlet The Babylon Bee in December 2021, where he called it “a world without humor” and “arguably one of the greatest threats to modern civilization.”

Musk announced his intention to buy Twitter for $44 billion on April 25, 2022, and completed the deal about six months later. He promised to restore “free speech” to the platform and has increased his conservative political commentary since the purchase.

Earlier this month, Musk said he expressed his unconditional support for former President Donald Trump following the attempted assassination at a rally in Pennsylvania on July 13.

Gender affirming care is a valid, scientifically based method

Gender reassignment treatment is an effective, science-based medical procedure that saves the lives of people who need help coming to terms with their gender identity. Gender reassignment treatment can range from talking or hormone therapy to surgery.

Some experts argue that gender-affirming care should be viewed like other forms of medicine, where treatment methods can be debated and discussed rather than the legitimacy of their necessity.

“In every field of medicine, we are continually improving care, changing it, developing new guidelines and developing research,” Dr. Ximena Lopez, a pediatric endocrinologist in California, previously told USA TODAY. “So it should be no surprise that this is also the case in gender-specific care.”
