Fire on the Nevada-Oregon border spreads to over 2800 hectares within hours

DENIO, Nev. (KOLO) – A wildfire that started late Sunday morning near the Nevada-Oregon border expanded to more than 2,800 acres by late Sunday afternoon and could not be contained, the Bureau of Land Management said.

The Wilder Fire was reported at 11:23 a.m. near Wilder Creek Road just outside of Denio, about 188 miles north of Reno.

The BLM describes it as an active, wind-driven fire burning in tall grass and brush.

There is no containment and no structures are threatened.

They are deployed with 52 men, including a helicopter and two bulldozers.
