WHITESTOWN, Ind. (WISH) – A truck driver is in critical condition after being shot in an incident of aggression on a highway in Whitestown Wednesday afternoon, according to police.

At 4:30 p.m., officers responded to a semi-truck that had exited I-65 NB at the 130 mile marker and stopped on Perry Worth Road in front of the Woodspring Suites.

A passing Boone County Sheriff’s Office deputy saw the semi-truck run off the road and was informed by passersby that the male semi-truck driver had been shot. The deputy immediately rendered aid.

Witnesses informed officers that the man had been the victim of an incident of road rage.
